Indiana Black Expo to host annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations in Elkhart.

All participants are welcome and encouraged to meet at the Civic Plaza at 9:15 a.m. for the 9:30 a.m. March to Community Missionary Baptist Church at 228 Chapman Ave. the Martin Luther King program will start at 10 a.m.

This year’s keynote speaker is a Emorja Roberson. Robertson graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelors degree Music and vocal performance.

In August 2017 Roberson was coined the first African-American to graduate with a masters of scared music in Boca performance from the University of Notre Dame.

As a doctoral student Robertson hosted the University of Notre Dame first Black History Month concert which feature article in jazz classical and Gospel include the pharmacist Callie Day, Isaac Cates ,Jj Wright, and Alex Mansoor.

In June 2019 Roberson made his national debuted on season nine of BET Sunday Best competition and finish at the top 20 contestant.

In 2020 Roberson competed in the Seek YE First competition. Roberson is the 2020 recipient the song of the year award in the 2020 peoples choice awards for independent Gospel Artist.

2020 Ben Barnes Community Service Award to David Robinson for his outstanding contribute to the Elkhart youth in the city of Elkhart

Lunch for the youth will be served at the Tolson Center and lunch for the adults will be served at the church.

Indiana black expo has been a pillar of African-American community and provides networking, educational, career and cultural opportunities to his members.

The mission of the Indiana black ex-boss to serve as a voice of vehicle for social and economic advancement of African-American people.
