Clay, NY — A Clay woman — nearly killed by her sheriff’s deputy husband in a murder-suicide and who was later charged with helping him steal $529,000 from sheriff’s accounts — is now being sued for more than $400,000.
The lawsuit is an attempt to recover money that authorities allege Deputy Isaac Eames and his wife Karen Eames stole from the sheriff’s office. An ongoing probe had found that $529,166.24 was stolen from a sheriff’s office civil account.
