KANSAS CITY, Mo. β€” Police in Overland Park responded Thursday morning to a deadly shooting that occurred in the 8400 block of England.

OPPD spokesperson John Lacy said the man called 911 at 9:11 a.m. and hung up immediately after saying his wife had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found the garage doors open, and a man and woman both 87 years-old were found dead in the front room of the house. Both victims died of gunshot wounds.

Police are investigating the incident as a possible murder-suicide.

OPPD found the gun in the man’s hand. They did not find a suicide note.

Lacy said the wife was bedridden and confirmed she was in hospice care. It is not confirmed whether the shooting was an end-of-life assist.
